Area Information
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy all that the beautiful Hayward area has to offer
including the 200 glaciated lakes and rivers and over 600 miles of groomed
snowmobile trails. Stay and take advantage of the areas world class hunting,
fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, atving, and snowmobiling. Discover
northern Wisconsin in the picturesque 850,000 acre Chequamegon National Forest
and the ability to experience thousands of wilderness acres at your disposal.
Additionally, cross-country skiers can explore over 250 kilometers of groomed
Nordic trails and enjoy North America’s largest cross country ski race and
trails, the American Birkebeiner.
